Hummingbird Moth

This Nexxus Sphinx (aka hummingbird moth or hawk moth) 

was observed sipping nectar from the carpet phlox around our patio today.

After reading a bit about the ancient Parthenon in A Child's History of the World, 

Gerrick was super excited to get to visit the full-scale replica at Centennial Park in Nashville.

He was surprised by the size of Athena!

Surprise bonus:  We were able to listen to some free performances

from the Nashville Opera during our visit!
