Weekly Reading #14

There was a ton of reading going on this week, especially considering that we were away from home all of two days for a trip to Kentucky and a swimming playdate.  I had planned to complete the AO week 31 readings, but we never got around to them and that is just fine with me.  One thing I love about  using Ambleside Online year round is that it's always there when we want it, but we don't have to let the schedule control our lives!

Independent Reading

This book was definitely worth the money! He refers to it often during his play;
I only list it here when I notice him spending an extended amount of time with it.

He camped out on the sofa with this book for about an hour.

He also spent another hour or so with a huge stack of non-fiction books he pulled off his shelf.
These books were about robots, race cars, pirates, vikings, and more.

I pulled this old favorite off the shelf and placed it on the coffee table this week,
hoping he might pick it up and read through it.  Instead, he asked me to read it, which is just fine, too!

  1. I just love that so many of the books that end up on your list are on ours as well. It always makes me smile. And if my boys happen to be standing behind me, reading over my shoulder, they always say "Hey...we have that book! Hey...I love that book!" :)

  4. My youngest LOVES the Mother Goose illustrated by Rosemary Wells. It's one of her favorites and so peaceful to read aloud.
