Monday
Filled in a hundred chart by 5's.
Played some games on Shephard Software Math:
Fruit Shoot Coins (nickels and pennies)
Fruit Shoot Odd/Even (1-100)
Read Grandfather Tang's Story and made the animals in the book with tangrams.
Tuesday
Completed two dot-to-dot (by 5's) puzzles.
(9 minutes in tutor mode)
Counting back by 5's
He then used some of the credits he's earned in Math-Whizz to play a game similar to Battleship.
We placed coins on a hundred chart to visually see a dollar (100 cents)
with pennies, nickels (counted by 5's), dimes (counted by 10's), and quarters.
Thursday
Completed two dot-to-dot (by 10's) puzzles--one numerals, one words.
(9 minutes in tutor mode)
Within the number range 0-30, say the number that is 10 more than any given number.
Played Shut-the-Box, replacing one die with a one-six word die.
(I'd rather have this double 12 version!)
Friday
(14 minutes total)
tutor mode--mental calculations: addition
replay mode--shape/space (navigating a maze: left/right/up/down)
(He discovered the replay mode today--lessons he has already completed can be replayed to try to
increase speed and accuracy to earn gold medals versus the mostly silver medals he has previously earned. He really wants some gold medals, but you have to be really fast, as well as accurate, to get them!)
Counted and sorted his allowance.
Played Coin Madness Addition on Shephard Software.
Helped make a birthday cake for his daddy.
