Exploring Cheekwood

Boy, I got some really cute pictures today! Too bad I can't share them with you since our friend's family has the "no face on the web" rule; you're just out of luck. But here's a glimpse of our fun day at Cheekwood.

Locals, Cheekwood is celebrating it's 50th Anniversary through the end of this month with 50-cent admission!

Doodles

Gerrick pulled out his doodle book this morning and drew for a long time. Here are a few of the pages he seemed to really enjoy:

A Tent in My Bedroom

One day I'm going to have a nice comfy, cozy love seat/sitting area in my bedroom. But until then, we shouldn't let the space go to waste, right?

Music City

We went to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum with homeschool friends this morning and saw a lot of interesting things...

Instruments played by the legends were on display. When we got back home, we looked up some of these musicians.

(Gerrick says he'd rather sleep in a hollow log than drink muddy water.)

After completing our tour we went across the street to the Schermerhorn Symphony Center and watched and listened to demonstrations of how one instrument can be played as a fiddle or as a violin.

Afterward, we admired an icy fountain...

Gerrick spotted this leaf and said, "Mama, you have got to take a picture of this leaf under this ice!"

When we'd had enough of the cold, we met Daddy for lunch. It was a nice way to spend a 20-degree day. :)
