Lakeschooling

We went to our local lakeside park yesterday afternoon and enjoyed the perfect weather.
We had a picnic and then the day's lessons.

Then he went exploring while I read.
He would bring me things to share from time to time like this woolly oak gall.

He asked me to take a picture of this fairy house.

He found some "treasure"...

...and built a waterfall.

Throughout the afternoon magnificent blue herons were gliding overhead.
He was so engrossed in his play, though, that he never saw this one sneaking past him.

everyday I spend with my children in nature I give thanks that they are not cooped up in a classroom away from me somewhere.

  4. What an absolutely gorgeous day for Lakeschooling. What a neat idea I will have to try something like that with my kiddo. I bet it would be a blast.

  5. Oh wow - I recognize that quilt! :) Looks like it comes in handy, and I'm jealous - would love to be lying out on a quilt reading a book!
