I think I need to very seriously consider building a backyard teepee. The children really enjoyed playing in this one, and there are some neat plans and ideas over at Cider & Faun.

Warner Park Nature Center
We had an excellent homeschool class at Warner Park Nature Center today. This was our first trip to this park. We weren't able to hike the trails due to the flood, but I tell you I am just amazed that we never run out of new places to explore in the Nashville area. Gerrick really enjoyed both the nature center and the natural playground; I'm sure we'll go back soon.

Looks like fun!
ReplyDeleteThere is often water in the natural play ground, and thus mud, which is extra fun. Great to see you today!
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to build a backyard teepee, but I probably need a backyard... I've seen some people build small teepees and then plant climbing flowering vines on them. They look magical!
ReplyDeleteWe are definitely building a backyard teepee this summer, though we'll probably use a tarp instead of sticks. Looks like a fun excursion!
ReplyDeleteI know!!!! My boys have beeen begging for one, too. It all started with our poverty point trip. Mmmmmmm....
ReplyDeleteWe have yet to visit that park! I really want to check it out!
ReplyDeleteI feel inspired by the teepee. Maybe that would be a good use of our bamboo?
We made a little one last year, for beans and cukes.
ReplyDeleteBackyard secret places are imperative, I think. :)
