Gerrick was excited to see the creek from a different perspective as we crossed over it.
After 30 minutes of walking, we needed a water break.
Finally, a total of 45 minutes later, we made it to our destination...
...and scored some good stuff. In addition to the books we found, Gerrick also purchased some yarn that, apparently, he needed for trap-setting.
I also bought this bird print, which will look nice once I update the frame with a coat of paint.
We needed some sustenance before making our trek back home, so we ate a delicious lunch at a little Chinese restaurant. Upon leaving it, we spotted a local produce shop! Who knew our little town had a produce shop?! What a surprise! Apparently it has been open for several months. We looked around and bought some strawberries...
...then headed back home.
This time he found some dried bamboo (of course, he had to bring it home). He looked around, saw none growing anywhere, and wanted to know how it got there. We finally concluded it must have blown off someone's truck.
Once back to our neighborhood, he played on the playground with some other kids while I

ReplyDeleteThanks for letting us know how much time it took by foot to walk a 5 min. car ride. We have a library about the same distance (maybe 7 mins) and I know we've walked longer distances at parks, etc. but have been hesistant to walk along the street. Looks like you guys had a great time, so maybe we'll try it too :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had an eventful day. I wish anything was close enough for us to walk to. We live in a very rural area and it takes about 20 minutes or more to reach anything.

ok, so 99% of our home library is from gwill (we have the best gwill ever shhhh :D )
ReplyDeletegoodness! i have spent many many hours in that shopping center. and i've eaten at the chinese restaurant several times. the walmart used to be there. and a tcby many moons ago. captain video where i rented many many movies. used to work at a dollar tree in that shopping center. thanks for helping me take a trip down memory lane, as difficult as it might be ;)
