100-Books-a-Month Challenge

Gerrick is excited about this challenge hosted by Home-Grown Kids. I'll update this post regularly with the books we read aloud this month, so click on the link in the sidebar if you'd like to check-up on our status. Some books may be listed more than once (because if he wants a book re-read, I would never say that it doesn't count!)

We're also going to use a printable 100 chart and color in a square for each book read. I think this will be a good visual for Gerrick. He thinks there is no way we can read 100 books in a month; he doesn't realize we already probably do.

  2. Great idea to keep track of it, I think my kids would be amazed at the number of books read too.

  3. It seems like a lot, until you think "three a day", and that's not much! :)

  4. I love this idea! We definitely read at least 100 books a month. I like the idea of the chart too.

  5. See, I come here and there's always a great idea! Count us in.

I am looking forward to seeing Amie's reaction when we hit a 100. I think we do this already too, and I'm sure she'll say "we read a THOUSAND books a month, Mama!", or "a hundred million!" So maybe this will be less an issue of reading than of counting - realizing what "a hundred" actually means.

And of course I love lists.

  7. I like the chart idea. I don't like the idea of trying to keep up with a list of our books but I love the number aspect of it!

  8. Mandy, I agree. I'm just keeping the books read in a stack and adding them here at the end of the day. Some people like to see what others are reading to get ideas for their own library days; that's really the only reason I'm keeping up with a list here. Gerrick is only using the chart. If he decides he wants to continue this challenge after November, I won't be listing here. :)
