Before having Ben my husband and I used to go to Borders and Barnes & Noble on Friday AND Saturday night and sometimes we'd even go on Sunday. People at work used to ask, "Why?"
WHY NOT?
I still remember the very first time I took Benjamin to Borders. It was freezing cold and I was a new mother. We drove the 1/2 hour to Borders and just as we pulled in, it began to snow. So, I parked the mini van and unhooked him from his seat. We climbed into the 3rd row of seats, I fed him and we listened to an interview with Ray Lamontagne on WXPN. I'll never forget that day--he was so tiny. We bought two board books and a Boober Fraggle plush toy. :)
Nice photos. We LOVE bookstores too. We have a little independent bookstore a few towns over that we love because they have a wonderful story hour and a great children's section with a castle for the kids to play in.
Bookstores are too dangerous - for my checking account! It is almost impossible to get out of one without buying something. Luckily we visit the library every week!
Sherry (weekend family storytimes): - Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Gerrick's Bucket List
- See bald eagles in the wild - Go to a Lego store - Go to Legoland - Visit the Statue of Liberty - See the Leaning Tower of Pisa - See a gargoyle on a building - Hear a pipe organ played live - Visit the Grand Canyon - Take a tour of the Everglades - Visit a maple syrup farm & make maple candy on snow - Go on a whale watch
Mmmm, Barnes and Noble especially (I saw the Pooh exhibit) because they offer 20% off to home educators!!
ReplyDeletewheeee!
