He Reads!

Gerrick decided today that he had reviewed letter sounds enough; he was ready to start reading. :)

He read all the way through page 15 of the workbook.

Then he read his first book.



Afterwards, he played the cd-rom games for about 45 minutes. I told him that he can do as much or as little of the workbook and the games everyday as he wants. So, he could be done with all of it by the end of next week...or next year. It's up to him--just the way he likes it. :)

  3. I love that Gerrick can go at his own pace. That is so important. Kiddo likes the Bob books for his beginning-reading. He goes through phases where he reads to me all the time and then where he says he only wants me to read.

  5. We use the Hooked on Phonics for my almost six year old son. He loves it, and has read the first 5 books. He also just finished the CD-ROM and is quite proud to read 123 three letter words. :)
    He's all about spelling out and reading street signs these days. So much fun.

  6. Congrats! I like that HOP has CD games for enrichment. That was one thing we missed (computers) during our reading jouney.
