A Song for Mama

Stick Painting

Gerrick came to me yesterday with a jumbo craft stick in one hand and a piece of paper in the other and said, "Mama, I want to paint with this stick." I gave him a jar of paint, and this was the result.

Another Mummy

This child has been wanting to wrap himself like a mummy for a while now. He finally found a way to do it; he used a roll of calculator tape!

Gerrick's Airplane

He says this is a new kind of fighter plane with no wings. He had a little help from Mom & Dad, but the design is all his. :) Cardboard boxes and random pieces of cardboard are some of his favorite things to play with.

Boys Behaving Badly

Gerrick found the book Monster Toddler at the library this morning. He had me read it 6 times this afternoon and had it on the top of the pile for Rickey to read at bedtime. He said that it's his "favorite book ever!" He really likes books about boys being bad. :) The books shown below include some of his old favorite bad boys. Do you know of any others?

The Magic of a Paper Bag

When Gerrick saw this bag, he immediately got the idea to become The Paper Bag Princess.

Later in the week, as the bag got worn & torn, he transformed into "a damaged robot."

Robot, one of Gerrick's favorite library books, is probably the inspiration for the "damaged robot" costume.

Fun in the Sun

We've spent a lot of time at the pool this week. Gerrick finally decided to let go of the side and has started paddling all over the pool.
